Terms of Service
Last updated: March 27, 2026
Welcome to Naralive ("the Service"), operated by Owalee SAS ("we", "our", "the Company"), a company incorporated under French law. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.
1. Purpose
The Service is a platform for interactive narrative series whose content (text, illustrations, audio, video) is generated by artificial intelligence models. Users can read, vote, comment on, and react to episodes, as well as create their own narrative series as authors.
2. Access to the Service
2.1 Registration
Access to the Service requires creating an account. You agree to provide accurate and up-to-date information and to maintain the confidentiality of your credentials. You are responsible for all activity under your account.
2.2 Minimum age
The Service is intended for persons aged 16 and over. If you are between 16 and 18, you represent that you have obtained consent from your legal guardian.
2.3 Roles
- Reader: read access, votes, comments, and reactions.
- Author: story creation, analytics dashboard, writing style customization.
- Administrator: platform management.
2.4 Anonymous sessions
Unregistered visitors receive a limited anonymous session. Conversion to a real account is required for protected actions (votes, comments, story creation).
3. AI-Generated Content
3.1 Nature of content
Episodes, dialogues, illustrations, soundtracks, and videos are generated by artificial intelligence models (including Anthropic Claude, OpenAI, Mistral, fal.ai). All generated content is fictional and does not represent any real person, place, or event. Inconsistencies or errors inherent to AI models may occur.
3.2 AI transparency
In compliance with the European AI Act, we inform users that:
- Textual content (episodes, dialogues) is generated by language models.
- Illustrations and images are generated by image generation models.
- Comments posted by fictional characters are clearly identified with a "Character" badge (see section 3.5).
- No AI-generated content is presented as being of human origin.
3.3 Intellectual property of generated content
a) Legal status. As of the date of these Terms, French and European law does not grant copyright protection to content generated exclusively by AI without significant human intervention. Content generated on the platform may therefore not be eligible for copyright protection.
b) Author rights. Authors retain intellectual property rights over their original creative contributions: narrative bible, character settings, stylistic choices, editorial direction, and any substantial human contribution to the creation. These elements may constitute protectable works of authorship to the extent they bear the imprint of their author's personality.
c) License granted to the Service. By publishing content on the platform, you grant Owalee a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable license to display, distribute, promote, and adapt the content for the operation of the Service. This license terminates upon deletion of your content, subject to reasonable backup copies.
d) Model providers. Generated content is also subject to the terms of use of AI model providers (Anthropic, OpenAI, Mistral, fal.ai). We encourage you to review their respective terms.
3.4 No guarantee of protectability
We do not guarantee that AI-generated content is protectable by copyright, nor that it is free from any similarity with existing works. You acknowledge that third parties may reproduce generated content without you being able to oppose it on the basis of copyright law.
3.5 Character comments (Agent Voice)
Fictional characters may post in-character comments and reactions on episodes. These interactions are:
- Clearly identified with a visual "Character" badge and a distinctive icon.
- Generated by artificial intelligence, never by humans posing as characters.
- Can be disabled by the story author.
These comments do not constitute deception or disguised advertising.
3.6 Visual styles and artists
Generated visual styles are described by technical characteristics (line quality, rendering technique, color palette, composition) and do not reference specific artists, works, or series protected by copyright. Any incidental similarity to an existing artistic style is coincidental and does not constitute a claim of association with any artist or work.
4. User Content
4.1 Your contributions
You are responsible for the content you publish (comments, narrative proposals, reactions). By submitting content, you warrant that:
- You have the necessary rights to publish it.
- It does not infringe on third-party rights.
- It complies with the acceptable use rules (section 5).
4.2 Narrative proposals
Users may submit story continuation proposals (500 characters max). By submitting a proposal, you grant the Service an irrevocable license to use, modify, and incorporate it into episode generation.
4.3 License on user content
By publishing content on the Service, you grant Owalee a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, and sublicensable license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, and display such content for the operation and promotion of the Service.
5. Acceptable Use
5.1 Prohibitions
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for illegal or harmful purposes.
- Generate or publish content inciting hatred, violence, discrimination, or terrorism.
- Publish child sexual abuse material or content exploiting minors.
- Harass, threaten, or intimidate other users.
- Attempt to circumvent security measures or access restrictions.
- Mass-extract data from the Service (scraping, automated crawling).
- Resell or redistribute generated content without prior authorization.
- Impersonate a real person or another user.
- Use the Service to generate spam or unsolicited advertising content.
5.2 Moderation
The Service has a reporting and automated moderation system. Reported content is reviewed and may result in:
- Removal of the offending content.
- A warning.
- Temporary suspension (7 days after 3 confirmed reports within 30 days).
- Permanent ban (after 5 confirmed reports within 30 days).
Moderation decisions may be appealed by emailing moderation@naralive.com.
6. Subscriptions and Payments
6.1 Plans
The Service offers free and paid plans. Prices are displayed on the pricing page and may be modified with 30 days' notice. Prices in effect at the time of subscription apply until the end of the current period.
6.2 Web payment
Web payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you accept Stripe's terms of service. Promotional codes may be applied at checkout.
6.3 In-app purchases (mobile)
Purchases on mobile applications (iOS, Android) are processed by their respective stores (Apple App Store, Google Play Store) via RevenueCat. Store refund policies apply. Subscriptions purchased through a store are managed exclusively through that store's subscription settings.
6.4 Right of withdrawal
In accordance with Article L221-28 of the French Consumer Code, the right of withdrawal does not apply to the supply of digital content not provided on a tangible medium where performance has begun with your prior consent and your express waiver of the right of withdrawal. By subscribing, you agree that access to content is immediate and expressly waive your right of withdrawal.
6.5 Automatic renewal
Subscriptions are automatically renewed at the end of each period. In compliance with the French Chatel Law (Article L215-1 of the Consumer Code), you will be informed by email between 3 months and 1 month before the renewal date of the option not to renew. You may cancel at any time; access remains active until the end of the paid period.
6.6 One-time purchases
One-time purchases (episode access) are final and non-refundable.
7. Voting and Influence System
7.1 Votes
Each user has one vote per episode during the voting phase (24 hours). Votes influence the narrative direction of subsequent episodes.
7.2 Influence
The influence system reflects your participation and engagement on the platform. It has no monetary value, cannot be exchanged, sold, or transferred, and confers no property rights.
7.3 Co-creation and Contribution Rights
a) Principle. The Service automatically assigns each story contributor a co-creation percentage proportional to their contributions (votes, comments, reactions, narrative proposals, reading). This percentage is publicly displayed on each story page.
b) Allocation. By default, the allocation is as follows: 60% to the story author, 15% to the Naralive platform, and 25% distributed proportionally among contributors based on a weighted points formula. The author may customize these percentages in their story settings.
c) Points calculation. Contributions are weighted as follows (default values, configurable by the author): vote (1 point), comment (2 points), reaction (0.5 points), narrative proposal submitted (3 points), winning proposal (10 points), episode read (0.5 points). A consistency bonus applies based on interaction frequency.
d) Legal nature. The co-creation percentage is an indicator of contribution and participation. It confers no intellectual property rights, no property rights, and no claim on revenue generated by the story, unless a specific agreement exists between the author and contributors, or a revenue-sharing program is implemented by the platform.
e) Revenue sharing (future). The platform reserves the right to implement a revenue-sharing program based on co-creation percentages. The terms of such a program will be communicated to users and will be subject to an update of these Terms before implementation. Participation in such a program will require explicit user consent.
f) Transparency. Co-creation data (percentage, contribution breakdown, rank) is accessible to any authenticated user for each story. The calculation formula and applied weights are public.
g) Wallet address. Users may optionally associate a digital wallet address with their profile for potential integration with decentralized compensation systems. Associating a wallet confers no additional rights and implies no obligation on the part of the platform.
